20th Century American Struggle 21st Century Hope Book Synopsis: The principle goal of 20th Century American Struggle, 21st Century Hope, is to better human relationships in general, and intergroup relations specifically, especially between those who perceive themselves to be separate, different or superior from/to others. i.e. those with different skin colors, ethnicity, religion, cultures and gender.
The book is designed to do several things for readers: - First and foremost it elevates our understanding on how humans mechanically function relative to our spiritual self. It exposes and proves that we are more then mere physical stuff and demonstrates how we are all tied together and related. It coins new terms such as “Psychogenes” to illustrate such.
- Second, it is a catharsis for those who consciously or subconsciously hold sexist, racist or other intolerant perspectives for others. It describes how racial behavior is carried over from generation to generation, why is it essential to recognize this behavior and what we can do about to rid ourselves and others from such.
- Third, it is the first work that definitively quantifies the actual number of racist's in society relative to those who are truly not; and it also shows those who may exhibit such tendencies, but in their hearts are not really so.
- Fourth, it constructs a bridge for those who perceive themselves to be different or separate from others to cross and meet others by creating a neutral ground for everyone to come and feel safe.
"20th Century American Struggle 21st Century Hope" introduction establishes that intergroup relations continue to suffer & that it derives from the 20th & earlier centuries. Furthermore, all conscious humans are duty bound to do whatever they could to ameliorate intergroup relations. It then establishes that a main problem exists with minorities and how they perceive whites. This forms the basis of the central question of whether “Euro-Americans” are truly the “racists that others perceive them to be” and if this question could be answered definitively “once and for all” then we would have an opportunity to intelligently address, and possibly solve, the tensions and issues which continuously rise up. The Forward’s Author, “Coach” Bill McCartney and founder of the Promise Keepers, sets a traditional 20th century tone regarding the thinking of “race” and religious relations. The book itself shatters the foundation of the 20th century mind-set and advances us to understand that most humans are not actually in control of their behaviors because their thoughts and concepts are controlled by others; others who are not necessarily alive. It shows the need for all of us to become “mentally blind” when it comes to relations with each other so we are not guided by our visual perception when determining who to interact with or how to interact with them. The authors devised a “Mental Microscope” to examine and answer the main question. They have obtained the building block components for the Mental Microscope out of the lives of selected “20th Century American Strugglers;” (the most prominent Americans who strived to better interpersonal relations during the 20th century and ultimately demonstrated those who are actually behind intergroup discard.) There are several graphic illustrations and figures never before seen which shows the inner workings of humans as never before seen. Ultimately the true culprits behind intergroup discord are revealed and the solutions for eliminating intergroup and interpersonal problems are presented. |
